You do not refer to the kind of person that a person is when they do something virtuos, at least they themselves usually wouldn't. They would say that it was 'the right or kind thing to do.' How did we come by the values that presently have? They weren't always the values etc. Should we question them? How did we get to this time where it's bad to harm people? Bottled up resentment from slaves, who developed the new sense of values. Be weak and humble, and who is not is evil. The concept of evil is invented. Jews, early Christians invented their 'evil' as well. Morality is in opposition to. The nobility of the genious flourishes possibly more with out self opposition. Which facets should you have reasons for and which ones should you not have reasons for? Can we figure out things about the world without experiencing them? Make sense of them? Structure of things? Through proper exersize of reason you can, arrive at substantive conclusions; figure out more things of the world. Rationalists. Empiricists, you have to go through the science of things. How can you reconsile these? anaylytic knowlege: reflecting on our true nature of our concepts. Sisters are female; part of our concept. Corrosponds with some are younger, some are older, etc. Synthetic truths: You have to go research to get the truth. apriori truth AND synthetic: geometric, between two points you can only have one straight line. You have to concede to the nature of space itself. What we're really uncomfortable with, is the idea that there should be knowlege that's out there that's independently of us that can be gotten nevertheless of pure reflection. Not talking about actual independent. You're actually reflecting off your own intellectual apparatus. It's as if we made spectacles: synthetic because they involve more than just concept, but space and time are part of the spectacles. What is accessible is the perception apparatus, space and time are not however. Space and time are the things we take because of our perception apparatus. We can't really know how the world is, we can only know how we perceive it. Have a perspective on what you think that you can look on your own views, as if you're looking on them from the outside. A very good way to do this is through conversation because you're analyzing in a dialogue way. Without dogma, without insistance, without imperative, to be honest, to be true to themselves, be sincere about beleifs, see how your beleifs fit together. You need the truth to energize yourself, but the illusion, so that the truth doesnt tear you apart. Peddling an 'untruth' to protect us from the truth. Catharsis: purging cleansing of emotion. End goal of tragedy is to aim at a particular kind of pleasure. Pleasure of pity and fear. Paradox arises when you look at closer the nature of pity and fear; they are species of pain. Pleasure and pain are directed in different directions: that's when you're going to feel these the most. You feel the pain, but you are riveted by the poetics, etc. Pleasure OF the painful feelings. Not really pleasure, but it's more of a fulfilling INSIGHT! Cussing works for me, and it may not for others, but if it didn't work, I would find another way to communicate and acheive what I need.
